This is my blog. It’s all about shovels smart version

The shovel is a fantastic tool. It combines 2 of the 6 classic simple machines. First it’s a wedge that cuts through the earth and when it’s firmly embedded, it turns into a lever. It was the shovel that made Samual Brannan California’s first millionaire in the San Francisco gold-rush around 1859. Whilst the hoards flocked from across the Americas to mine the seam for nuggets of shiny minerals, Brannan spotted an opportunity from a different angle. He knew the miners would need some tools, he sold the shovels.

Fast forward 150 years and the currency has changed. The nuggets have been replaced by 1′s and 0′s and they’re streamed through the ether faster than you can possibly imagine.

The shovel is redundant – new tools are needed to filter the terabytes of information we send and receive each day. This blog is all about my journey to discover those tools and using them in my online business and life.

About me straightforward version

My name is Marc Eglon and I work offline as I biologist.

Like most people, I enjoy the good things in life (cycling fast through the woods, climbing mountains, sleeping under the stars, swimming in the sea, you know the kind of thing).

In 2009, I decided to start an online business so I can become independent of paid employment and have the freedom to do the things I choose, when I choose. This blog is all about my journey to discover the simplest strategies and tactics that work for me. I want to share my journey with you so you can benefit from my story (mistakes and all) and hopefully share some of your own business successes with me.
