It’s not really about shovels

The shovel combines 2 of the 6 classic simple machines. It’s a wedge that slices into the earth. And when it’s firmly embedded, it’s a big-ass lever.

The shovel made Samual Brannan California’s first millionaire in the San Francisco gold-rush of 1859. As the hoards flocked to crush rocks and mine the seam for shiny minerals, Brannan saw a different opportunity. He knew the miners needed tools. He sold the shovels.

150 years later and the nuggets have been replaced by 1′s and 0′s. You’re living it right now.

We need new tools to filter the terabytes of information we use every day. I’ll show you how to use those tools to simplify your life and build your business.

But let’s keep things simple. I have much better things to be getting on with (like flying through sweepy singletrack on my bike, dodging trees and scaring the shit out of myself).

Since 2010, I’ve been creating simple lightweight websites to test how easy it really is to make money on the internet. I’ve created membership sites, info products and affiliate sites and I now earn a tidy little income from work I did months ago. Without lifting a finger.

It’s easy to get distracted by new stuff (products, tactics, technologies). So I like to limit the platforms I use and keep it simple. Although I post some cool stuff on this site, I much prefer to communicate by email – it’s much more intimate and we both benefit from the deeper exchange it creates. I love it when readers respond by email, it’s just much more meaningful than commenting on a blog, just to get some traffic or a backlink. So if you really want to learn about the juicy stuff, I recommend you sign up for my kickass emails (it’s free).

I truly believe that beautiful design and simple relationships are the greatest marketing tools around. And that making an honest living online doesn’t have to be sleazy. Or indeed difficult. I’m here to help you put your own stake in the ground.

And here’s what my raving fans are saying:

“I love the way you talk to your peeps… Love It!!”
